A Confession
Apologize for my bluntness. Going to like myself a bit less for what I’m about to say. Our new U.S. President is an idiot. Pretty strong words and I was raised to honor and respect the Office of the President, no matter any personal feelings. Any person willing to stand up and lead the country deserves that respect. I still and always will respect the Office of the President of the United States. The fact remains, our president-elect is a buffoon, a moron, an idiot.
I guess my problem is I don’t like blowhards, people with egos they can’t control. There are quite a few people I’ve come across in life that fit the description. Much less these days as I selectively whittle out the fools from my life.
Now, when it comes to politicians, the number of fools grows exponentially. Politicians are like natural hoodwinkers, they lie. New and seasoned politicians dribble, drool and trip over their own tongues coming up with whatever lie they can espouse that will get them elected, keep them in office, or grab some quick media coverage. I don’t think George Washington had anything to do with that style, but there have been a lot of liars and idiots since then. You don’t need a party affiliation, just a forked tongue.
How It Goes
This far in and I’m sure if anyone from our president-elect voters list has read this far, you might feel insulted. Right about now you might spit and slide your tongues over the word Democrat, convinced I’m of that ilk. Well, nothing could be further from the truth.
Don’t like what the Democrats have done to this country just as much as the Republicans. Neither side is to blame, but both sides have putrid slime in their mouths. It is the abuse of democratic ideals and blasphemy in the name of America that has weakened this country for many long years.
Back to this president-elect. Policies? There’s only one. As long as this newly elected president can line his coffers, keep building his empire, continue to gild his own heart and self-stoke his ego, why then, America will be made great. As long as his personal empire is strong, America will do okay. The one thing that does set him apart from other politicians is that he is unabashed in letting you know that he comes first.
Politics As Usual
To be honest and fair, there are quite a few folks who carried a few more dollars around in their pockets during his first administration. Pretty much a deciding factor into why he’s going back in. He’s got crazy talk about massive tariffs and other things, but for many, he’s a reliable businessman. Plenty of merch and bling to maintain a stable financial influx. Look, even idiots can make things happen and we’ll have to see if he can ping the ball twice on the economy.
Of course, economic issues and what happened these last few years have nothing to do with the Democrats. It has everything to do with political gamesmanship and who owns a majority. Power hinges on which way the door is swings. A house divided generates twice as much garbage with no one taking the trash out. Believe it, he’ll be taking the trash out. That’s also a gamble as to why many folks voted for him. Tough going the first time around, an indiscriminate bulk pickup may happen this time.
Build a Wall for Don Quixote
Immigration issues didn’t happen under a Democratic administration nor a Republican. It was allowed to get worse under both parties for decades. Problems with foreigners coming into our country has been an American issue, a broken policy perpetrated by both sides.
Whether through lies or inaction or personal agendas, politicians have been screwing up immigration since before the Japanese internment camps at the outset of World War II. Even further back. Why? Lies are much easier to propagate than anything else.
The more difficult notion is to pick up a pad of paper and pencil, grab a drink of water, pull out a chair at the table, and sit down with all those who oppose you. Same goes for the opposition. Listen to differing views, proffer solutions, get a little advancement for your cause and compromise on a few others. Like it or not, that’s how it’s supposed to go in a democratic society. Anything else and you’ll be dancing the Maduro Stomp.
Everybody from the President through the halls of Congress, the Supreme Court, perhaps the Department of Justice, maybe even the Pentagon…the scales are tilted and the windmill is blowing. Right now, there’s a chicken in every pot, everything is going to be okay. Let’s see how it goes.
America is not going to hell in a hand basket. Well, at least not yet. America can be better under this new president, that’s what has to be a reality. Our job as Americans. We have to work hard together and find common values we can uphold. We need to protect our President from going off the rails, whether he likes it or not.
An Idiot With a Forked Tongue
Back to this shocker of calling the leader of the free world an idiot. Some would call that treason and maybe they’ll deport me. Well documented, the man has demonstrated time and again how much of an idiot he is. Usually, it happens whenever he opens his mouth and spews forth those derogatory comments about others.
When he first ran for president, he was caught on tape shaming an entire gender of Americans and has never apologized for it. Since then, he’s managed to insult entire races, countless groups and plenty of individuals. By now, just about everyone has been splashed a time or two by his bucket of slop. Time and time again he has made disparaging remarks about anyone and everyone while exalting himself as the greatest whatever since before history began. Idiot.
Sparking distrust, remaining divisive, and acting like a child when he doesn’t get his way are all hallmarks of an idiot. Isn’t so much that he has to believe in anything he says. Easy enough to dismiss yesterday’s remarks and make nastiness fresh each day. All he has to do is put the idea in your head. Truth is, he doesn’t need to believe in any of it, just get you to.
The Supreme Idiot
The emperor got new clothes and now America is naked. For my part, I will keep my shirt on and honor the office. I will support and go along with what he has been charged to do, lead the country. This time, he’ll almost certainly have an easier time achieving what he tried to do the first time around.
I’ll be hanging on to my hat, that’s for sure. If I can get beyond the nasty, negative rhetoric; the immature bile that spews from his mouth; the oversized ego with an undersized brain, then I might be able to survive. Those ugly things I can do without. Like a very dear friend would say, put down the microphone. Let’s add, leave your ego at the door and get to work doing good things for the country.
I want America to continue keeping their sleeves rolled up on this democracy initiative. I want America to work harder, sit down at the table together and get some work done. If this newly-elected idiot can help guide Americans to accomplish that, I’ll be the first to call him a Supreme Idiot.
Here We Go
Honestly, I don’t have much faith that this can happen. I was raised with stong moral values, human decency and community-driven principles. This ugliness we live in puts a bad taste in my mouth. Let’s all take a breath mint. We are in this together and need to walk the path that will lead to common ground.
Don’t be fooled. Counting money and growing empires of power are first and foremost for the idiot-elect. Everyone who voted for him needs to roll up their own sleeves, take all that Brandon crap off their tongues, sit down at the table, and get to work.
Otherwise, we’re all idiots and made a mistake on this idea of finding solutions, agreeing to compromise, and working toward a true democracy.
remember the words, of the late, great Adaili Stevenson failed Presidential candidate upon losing the election for that office…
“In America the people usually get what they deserve.’
We are certainly reaping what we have sowed, that’s for sure. Dems are weak and confused. They can’t seem to figure out what they want to be when they grow up. The Republicans? Well, please call them something else. The Republican party I recall had some damn good conservative, middle and right of center policies. Back then, you could indeed put the politicians in a room, lock the door and they would come out with a solution that might work. These days, we’re all enemies of each other. The Federal Government is bloated and the State Governments will become the latest blood sport as they take swings at anyone not like them. Now, yes, we have gotten what we deserve. This idiot coming into office has no plan. He has dangerous rhetoric and was able to sell it to the American people. Seeing how wasteful and self-serving the Dems have become, like Auto Doc says, what choice did we have? In this wasteland of dead ideas, a void was created. No true American leaders stood up and succeeded in bringing the country together. Along comes this idiot and the void got filled. Got what we deserve? Yeah, order that Chinese watch and make America great. Pin a medal on the Proud Boys and take a dump on Pelosi’s desk. Lock up the enemy within and have a bottle of vodka. Adlai may have been right. We may not destroy democracy in the next few years, but, yeah, we are surely getting what we deserve.
Here’s the rub. Many people voted for DJT not based on him, but rather his policies versus KH’s. Both these candidates were poor representatives for their parties, but what real choice did we have? Many folks didn’t want boys playing on the girls’ track team, unvetted people pouring over the border, and are worried about inflation which they believe will improve in a DJT administration. I think the majority of Americans felt the the Dems went too far off the left side of the rails and they hope this will steer them back towards the center. All the BS about we’ll lose our democracy if DJT gets in is just that, BS. You may recall that Mr. Wasiliewski (gee I hope I spelled that right) gave many lectures about our constitution and checks and balances on power, so our Republic will not crumble. This country ain’t as messed up as the screaming voices on both sides may lead you to believe. Just treat everyone with kindness and respect where you can and help out when you can.
Right on all counts. That’s exactly why he got the votes. Top down, middle out doesn’t matter. If we can’t work together we’ll fall apart. Isn’t happening nationally and state and local municipalities can’t seem to step out of their own muck. No, we’re not gonna explode over this, Wasilewski was right (and damn, looks like correct spelling to me!). There’s policies on both sides that have merit, so you put guardrails up for everyone. Maybe DT’s plans and wishes and ways of governing will help heal. That’s what a majority of Americans said and I respect that. Still, the man is a bonafide idiot. Let a young boy come and court my daughter and come talk to me about grabbing women whenever and wherever and that young boy might be brave, but he’s still an idiot.
