Across the Great Divide

These days, a perspective is a dangerous thought to have. Anyone can think. But, put a few thoughts together and you’ve got a bonafide perspective. Everybody has an opinion, although some take great pleasure in giving you theirs even when you don’t ask for it.
Those who think are those who have an opinion, which is just about all of us. Many of us share our opinions, many more aren’t as confident in our thoughts well enough to share them. We hesitate to voice our opinion for fear of getting shot down, afraid that someone will dismiss or even attack our opinion. That’s not how it’s supposed to work.
Perspectives and opinions are thoughts that have passed the sanity check in our minds. We’ve listened to others, listened and learned, and joined that with our own thoughts. From there, we form an opinion. Coupled with our book learning, our life experiences, our own thinking, we formulate a perspective that, good or bad, becomes our own. The best thing about perspectives and opinions is that they aren’t written in stone. A perspective isn’t a law or a mandate, rather it is someone’s seasoned thoughts, something for us to listen to, to think about and formulate our own opinion.
Collected here are miscellaneous perspectives that I’ve given time to, thought about, and believe in. The points of view are mine, snapshot thoughts that could go in any direction depending on how you listen, what you think.
